Winter Sports and Activities

Morzine is a winter sport haven. As part of the Portes du Soleil, it provides over 650km of ski slopes and 288 ski runs making it one the largest in Europe.

Avoriaz

The vast array of slopes runs across both France and Switzerland and span the entire range of levels, from nursery slopes to some of the most challenging black runs & off-piste you will find anywhere – there’s something for everyone.

Over half the runs are suited to beginners and intermediate skiers – which makes the resort well-suited to families. Of the remaining 46% of slopes, 33% are advanced runs and 13% are expert runs.

For the super-fit, the area boasts an 11-kilometre long piste and some excellent cross-country trails. In addition to groomed pistes, there are numerous off-piste opportunities. A single ski pass allows access to the entire system of over 200 lifts at Les Portes du Soleil.

Portes du Soleil

The season for skiing at Morzine runs from December and April. The resort is situated only 65kms from Geneva, and can easily be accessed by catching a plane to Geneva-Cointrin Airport, and a bus from Geneva to Morzine.

The resort organizes traditional folklore evenings, and offers alternative non-skiing activities such as: mono-skiing, ice-skating, paragliding, bowling, ice-climbing, sleigh riding, curling, snowshoe walking, snowboarding and a variety of sports options at the local sports centre.
